American Climate Alliance Implementation Plan
The implementation and management of the American Climate Alliance (ACA) Action Plans will be executed by an Organizing Committee, a Planning Committee, and an Executive Committee.
ACA Organizing Committee
The purpose of the ACA Organizing Committee is to develop and implement a short-term Action Plan for the American Climate Alliance.
Foundation For the Future held the first ACA Organizing Committee meeting at its Bellevue, Washington, building on September 14, 2008.
The initial members of the ACA Organizing Committee are:
• Walter Kistler, Co-Founder and President, Foundation For the Future
• Bob Citron, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Foundation For the Future
• Sesh Velamoor, Deputy Director, Foundation For the Future
• Dr. George Mueller, Past Head of NASA’s Apollo Program
• Sir Crispin Tickell, Director, Policy Foresight Programme, James Martin Institute for Science and Civilization, University of Oxford, UK
• Dr. William H. Calvin, Author and Neurobiologist, School of Medicine, University of Washington
• Dr. Jerome C. Glenn, Director, Millennium Project
A second ACA Organizing Committee meeting is planned for later this
year in Bellevue, Washington. Additional Organizing Committee meetings
will be held as required.
The American Climate Alliance plans to establish a Planning Committee early in 2009. The ACA Planning Committee shall be composed of the heads or senior representatives of climate action advocacy organizations, major energy corporations, alternative energy corporations, and US government departments concerned with climate change.
The purpose of the ACA Planning Committee is to develop and implement a medium-term and a longer-term Action Plan for the ACA.
The first meeting of the ACA Planning Committee is now planned to take place in Washington, DC, during the spring of 2009. The ACA Planning Committee shall hold a series of meetings throughout 2009 and 2010.
The American Climate Alliance plans to establish an Executive Committee during the summer of 2009. The ACA Executive Committee shall be composed of elected officials of the ACA, including its President, Vice President, and Secretary, and several ACA senior officials. The Executive Committee will carry out the process by which the leadership of the ACA will be established and developed. The Committee shall be elected by senior representatives of member organizations.
The ACA Executive Committee shall meet in Washington, DC, on a periodic basis to plan and implement its medium-term and longer-term Action Plans to achieve its goal. The first meeting of the ACA Executive Committee is now planned for summer, 2009.
