American Climate Alliance Development Budget

It will cost approximately $2 million to establish and develop the American Climate Alliance during the next two years. This ACA budget includes the costs of establishing the alliance; hosting and convening a series of meetings of the ACA Organizing Committee, Planning Committee, and Executive Committee; hiring an ACA Project Manager and staff; selecting the representatives of the ACA participating organizations; and hiring a public relations firm that will develop and implement the ACA Public Relations Plan. It also includes the cost of managing the ACA and its Action Plans, briefing and working with congressional staffs, senators, and congresspersons to develop legislation, and eliciting congressional support to establish a government agency to meet the challenges of climate change.

American Climate Alliance Implementation Funding

Initially, Foundation For the Future, a permanently endowed foundation, will host the American Climate Alliance and manage $2 million committed for its establishment, development, coordination, and implementation. Included are administrative costs and the costs of managing the ACA Action Plans from 2008 through 2010. Once the American Climate Alliance has achieved its short-, medium-, and longer-term goals, the Foundation will transfer the hosting of the Alliance to the Alliance.
